One of the most important requirements of a student of law is the ‘Library’. The VCL library is one of the best Law College Libraries in Karnataka and has always been a centre of research activities and learning for students of law and faculty members. Housed on the first floor of the building, the VCL library is equipped with a collection of more than 20,000 books and 2000 bound volumes of various periodicals. In addition to this, students have access to electronic research materials in CD-ROMs and legal database through major online research platforms including SCC, Manupatra online, ICFAI online and Law Super.
The Contemporary development and trend in any field of study and research is always found in scholarly articles published in the journals. Various articles penned by scholars give new dimensions of approach to a particular subject and study. The VCL law library subscribes more than 45 such law journals published national and international level. The Library has collections of up to date journals. The VCL Library also has good collections of commentaries on constitution of India, Company Law, Administrative Law and Transfer of property , to name a few, in addition to this the students also have access to more than 15 magazines and 9 daily news papers in both English & kannada Languages.
The VCL is strongly committed to add at least 1000 books to its existing collections every year. The VCL library has also got a separate collection of books/journals/Law reports donated by the alumines, reputed lawyers & students.
Library Timings
Library remains open from 08:00 am to 06:00 pm on week days and Saturday from 08:00 am to 03:00 pm.Timings are extended at the time of Examinations.
Members Privileges
LLB : 2 books for 7days
Lecturers : 8 Books for no time limit
Part time Lecturers : 4 books for six months
A Late fee of Rs.2/- per day is charged for books returned after due date.
